Going Home

Returning
There is no going back
Human emotion and attachment
With familiarity ringing
As if there should be
A twine of the heart
In a place where life was before
Only that which has been carried forward
Pulls these strings
In past or present
Life lay not in what was before
But what lay before us
And so it is

And there too will be memories.

Someone's past is the foundation of what they are today...this is inescapable. You can bury it, but it is still there.

The past evolved into the present fundamentally changed from its form before that which is most important is what remains a part of that which will be...what we find important and where we find it is as varied as the individuals that grapple with such elemental life questions.
